TLD-J70 CR39 Solid-State Track and TLD Neutron Dosimeter 

Product Introduction

The TLD-J70 personal dosimeter is a multifunctional badge-style CR39 solid-state track, TLD and neutron personal dosimeter. It uses a CR-39 solid-state track detector and 6LiF or 7LiF thermoluminescent detectors to measure neutron and gamma mixed field doses. The CR-39 solid-state track detector measures fast neutron doses in mixed fields, while 6LiF or 7LiF thermoluminescent detectors measure slow and intermediate-energy neutron doses in mixed fields.

 

Composition

The fast neutron track sheet consists of a special film enclosed in a case, similar in appearance to a film-worn dosimeter. Fast neutrons interact with the matrix on the film, releasing recoil protons. These protons produce ionization tracks in the emulsion. When the film is developed, the tracks are then counted under a microscope. The number of tracks per square centimeter is a measure of the neutron dose.

 

Structure

The dosimeter has four internal slots for thermoluminescent detectors of varying shapes and sizes. Different detector configurations allow for measurement of X-ray, gamma-ray, beta-ray, and neutron doses. The dosimeter is mounted using a hanging card and is numbered with a self-adhesive barcode.

 

The TLD-700 personal dosimeter has three slots: one for a CR39 solid-state track detector and two for thermoluminescent detectors that measure reflected neutrons. Each slot can accommodate two pairs of 6LiF and 7LiF thermoluminescent detectors.

 

For neutron-gamma mixed field dose measurement, two thermoluminescent detectors are required to distinguish neutron doses from the mixed field. One thermoluminescent detector is neutron-sensitive and the other is insensitive. For example, 7Li is insensitive to neutrons but only to gamma rays, while 6Li is sensitive to both.
