The BD-T1884-A10 density meter is designed for measuring the density of transparent, low viscosity liquids and viscous liquids. Density refers to the mass of a substance contained per unit volume at a specified temperature.
The density of petroleum products increases with the amount of carbon, oxygen, and sulfur in their composition. Products containing more aromatic hydrocarbons, colloids, and asphaltenes are very dense, while those with more naphthenes have medium density, and those with more alkanes have the smallest density. Therefore, measuring density can help determine the type and composition of oil products.
