Product introduction
The TOC-600E Total Organic Carbon Analyzer uses ultraviolet light (UV) to oxidize slow-flowing water samples. The organic matter in the sample is oxidized to CO₂. CO₂ is measured using conductivity detection technology. The total organic carbon value of the water sample is obtained by analyzing the change in conductivity of the water sample before and after oxidation.
Application
Ø Pharmaceutical industry: purified water, water for injection, sterile water for injection, and all types of deionized water;
Ø Semiconductor industry: electronic-grade process water;
Ø Thermal power industry: boiler feed water, boiler makeup water, and condensate water;
Ø Laboratory water purification systems: purified water, ultrapure water.
Working principle
Organic matter in the sample is oxidized to carbon dioxide under ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The carbon dioxide is then measured using direct conductivity detection technology. The total organic carbon concentration is calculated by determining the total inorganic carbon (TIC or IC) concentration of the unoxidized sample and the total carbon (TC) concentration of the oxidized sample. The total organic carbon concentration is the difference between the total carbon concentration and the total inorganic carbon concentration: TOC = TC – TIC.
